The Lent Course – “The Way to Freedom”
Jesus said: If you stand by my teaching, you are truly my disciples; you will know the truth and the truth will set you free
(John 8 vv31-2)

The course is inspired by these words of Jesus and the poem of the German pastor/theologian Deitrich Bonhoeffer in his Stations on the way to freedom written in prison in 1944.
If you set out to seek freedom, you must learn before all things mastery over sense and soul lest your wayward desirings, lest your undisciplined members, lead you now this way, now that way. (translationof opening lines)
