1 John 3:1–3 (Listen)
3:1 See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. 2 Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. 3 And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure.

About Rev'd Paul Boddam-Whetham: I joined the parish of Ducklington with Hardwick in February 2016 from my previous post as curate in St Albans. I had been in the construction industry, having been with John Laing Construction for 25 years and then Bovis Project Management for 10 years before falling victim to the 2008/9 recession and taking early retirement. At this point I was already going through the discernment process with the Bishop and was offered a training place with the Eastern Region Ministry Course.
Having been a late responder to God’s call to ordained ministry, I was content to offer myself across the breadth of opportunity that was available as I came to the end of my curacy and I am honoured to be invited to serve as your Rector and am excited to be part of God’s mission both in Ducklington and the wider deanery.
