You light the candle at the end of a service to spread a magical glow around everyone.<\/p>\n<p>Each element of a Christingle has a special meaning and helps to tell the Christian story:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The orange represents the world<\/li>\n<li>The red ribbon (or tape) symbolises the love and blood of Christ<\/li>\n<li>The sweets and dried fruit represent all of God\u2019s creations<\/li>\n<li>The lit candle represents Jesus\u2019s light in the world, bringing hope to people living in darkness.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Any donations given at the service are to support <a href=\"https:\/\/www.childrenssociety.org.uk\/?gad_source=1&amp;gclid=Cj0KCQiAr7C6BhDRARIsAOUKifiuLYL9oUbMLXYSiMcHrGS9obuFjzMU3Xyn7tqwT03Wl_2XacCXlrEaAngaEALw_wcB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Children&#8217;s Society.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>During the service, each person takes a Christingle and the candles are all lit to create a warm, magical glow symbolising the light of Christ and bringing hope to people living in darkness.
