More than two million people have fled Ukraine following the Russian invasion. Now is the time for us to respond prayerfully and practically – here’s what you can do…<\/p>\n

I want to sponsor a family and can offer accommodation<\/h3>\n

We are working with Citizens UK to resettle 50 Ukrainian refugees across the diocese before Easter – and we need your help. <\/p>\n

Sponsoring a family through the Citizens UK scheme means you’ll have access to their expertise and connections, and as a diocese we’re here to support you through the process. If you can help, whether you’ve already registered as a sponsor elsewhere or have just heard about the programme, we would love to hear from you – just click the button below.<\/p>\n

Currently, the government’s Homes for Ukrainians scheme<\/a> means people can only seek refuge here if they have a sponsor. Through Citizens UK, we can link you to a refugee family that suits your accommodation size and provide extra support in organising transport – a responsibility that otherwise lands solely on the shoulders of the refugee and sponsor. <\/p>\n

Sponsoring a family through the diocese is the best way to make a big impact quickly and show courageous, compassionate love to those who need it most. We’ve been thrilled to see enquiries come in already – let’s keep up that momentum.<\/p>\n

I want to help but I can’t offer accommodation<\/h3>\n

There are loads of other ways you can help – whether it’s picking up a family from the airport, helping with paperwork for the GP or local schools, or being a friendly face they can talk to in a difficult time.<\/p>\n
