{"id":22614,"date":"2022-05-29T18:11:27","date_gmt":"2022-05-29T17:11:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ducklingtonchurch.org.uk\/?p=22614"},"modified":"2022-05-29T18:10:25","modified_gmt":"2022-05-29T17:10:25","slug":"witney-deanery-pilgrimage-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ducklingtonchurch.org.uk\/?p=22614","title":{"rendered":"Witney Deanery Pilgrimage 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The inaugural&nbsp;walking of the <strong>Witney&nbsp;Deanery&nbsp;Pilgrimage<\/strong>&nbsp;will begin from St Mary the Virgin, Witney at 12.00 noon on Sunday 12<sup>th<\/sup> June and end at the same church with an Evensong at 6.00pm on Sunday 19<sup>th<\/sup> June at which Bishop Gavin will preach.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Pilgrimage will visit all the Church of England churches in the Deanery. The hope is that the Pilgrimage will enhance the unity of the Deanery and also offer a stimulus towards churches becoming more contemplative, in line with one of the aims of the Diocese. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The daily stages will be as follows<\/p>\n<p>Sunday 12<sup>th<\/sup> June&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <strong>Witney to Widford&nbsp; <\/strong>via Curbridge, Minster Lovell, Asthall, Swinbrook,<\/p>\n<p>Monday 13<sup>th<\/sup> June &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <strong>Widford to Holwell&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/strong>via Fulbrook, Burford, Taynton, Westwell<\/p>\n<p>Tuesday 14<sup>th<\/sup> June &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <strong>Holwell to Black Bourton <\/strong>via Filkins, Broughton Poggs, Langford, Little Faringdon, Kelmscott, Broadwell, Kencot, Alvescot<\/p>\n<p>Wednesday 15<sup>th<\/sup> June&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <strong>Black Bourton to Bampton&nbsp; <\/strong>Via Carterton, Shilton, Brize Norton, Lew<\/p>\n<p>Thursday 16<sup>th<\/sup> June&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <strong>Bampton to Aston <\/strong>via Clanfield<\/p>\n<p>Friday 17<sup>th<\/sup> June&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <strong>Aston to Standlake <\/strong>via Shifford, Yelford<\/p>\n<p>Saturday 18<sup>th<\/sup> June&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <strong>Standlake to North Leigh&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/strong>via Northmoor, Stanton Harcourt, South Leigh<\/p>\n<p>Sunday 19<sup>th<\/sup> June&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <strong>North Leigh to Witney&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/strong>via Hailey, Witney Holy Trinity, Cogges, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ducklingtonchurch.org.uk\/?ctc_event=witney-deanery-pilgramage-2022\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ducklington<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Walking will begin each day 9.30am; except on the two Sundays when it will begin at 12 noon.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>People are invited to join the pilgrimage for as much time as they wish. &nbsp;It is anticipated that there will be a small core group walking the whole route and that at least some overnight accommodation will be provided by churches. &nbsp;<br \/>\n<strong>For further information and to sign up for overnight accommodation, please contact<a href=\"mailto:hugh@witneyparish.org.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Hugh White:<\/a><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The inaugural&nbsp;walking of the Witney&nbsp;Deanery&nbsp;Pilgrimage&nbsp;will begin from St Mary the Virgin, Witney at 12.00 noon on Sunday 12th June and end at the same church with an Evensong at 6.00pm on Sunday 19th June at which Bishop Gavin will preach.&nbsp; The Pilgrimage will visit all the Church of England churches in the Deanery.
