I am challenged by the lyrics \u201csummertime and the livin is easy,\u201d is this an accurate reflection for all? The increased cost of living, climate change and challenges accessing health and social care are just three of the significant concerns facing many in our community. It may be summertime but living isn\u2019t always easy.<\/p>\n<p>As Christians we are called to be mindful of the needs of others. I grew up reciting before mealtimes the prayer \u201cLord bless the food we are about to receive and make us ever mindful of the needs of others. Amen.\u201d How as a church are we called to be mindful of others needs? This is one of the questions we will be reflecting on at our \u201cChurch Away\u201d morning on the 14<sup>th<\/sup> October from 9am to 12pm.<\/p>\n<p>As we endeavour to become more Christ-like we will become more contemplative, compassionate and courageous in all we are and in all we do. Charles Chadwick our Parish Development Adviser will be facilitating our morning together as we explore all that God is calling us to do at this time in our church.<\/p>\n<p>I am keen to hear from as many people as possible in our church community and those connected to the village. So please do save the date in your diaries. Your views are important and will help shape the mission and ministry of St Bartholomew\u2019s Church.<\/p>\n<p>Although \u201clivin isn\u2019t always easy\u201d we have so much to be grateful for in St Bartholomew\u2019s.
