Sermons by Bishop Colin Fletcher OBE

Was Bishop of Dorchester from 2000 until late 2020. His post involved him working in support of some 200 churches in Oxfordshire. In he has strong links with a number of community groups (eg Creation Theatre Company; Oxford Inspires; Common Purpose Oxfordshire). He is a governor of the North Oxfordshire Academy and chairs the South Oxfordshire Local Strategic Partnership and the County-Wide Stronger Communities Alliance. Nationally he has a remit for the Church of England in connection with Chaplaincy in Detention/Removal Centres and also in connection with the Police.

Prior to becoming Bishop he was Chaplain to the Archbishop of Canterbury from 1993 and before that from 1984 Vicar of Holy Trinity, Margate. From September 1979 to 1984 he was Tutor at Wycliffe Hall (Ethics & Church History) and Curate of St Andrew’s, North Oxford. For three years from September 1975 he was Curate at St Peter’s Shipley in the Bradford Diocese.
