Diocese of Oxford

An update from Witney Filling Station

The date of our next meeting is Tuesday 12th October 7:30pm- 9pm at The Corn Exchange, Witney.

Our guest speaker for this month is Gerald March. Gerald, strictly speaking is retired but, since September 2019, has been the co-minister of St. Mary’s Church, Swinbrook where there is a thriving congregation planted out of St. John’s Church, Burford in October 2017.

 Previously he was a vicar in Southampton until he retired in 2009 and moved to Witney with his wife, Barbara. He worshipped locally until 2018 when, following a prophetic prompting to move into rural ministry, he and Barbara felt called to worship and serve in St. Mary’s.

 One of Gerald’s passions is for Christians to discover and use the gifts God has given them. A key verse for him is Ephesians 2:10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Gerald believes that, when Christians of whatever age and background are flourishing in the use of their gifting and are following what the Lord has motivated them to do, the Church flourishes and the Kingdom of God grows.

 For those who are either unable to make the evening or do not feel comfortable to join in person we are intending to record the evening and post it on our website and Facebook page. These can be accessed through these links;
