Dear Friends,
As the days grow shorter and we enter this special season, I want to extend a heartfelt invitation to rediscover the magic of Christmas together. This year, let’s embrace the wonder, joy, and fun that make this season so memorable—not just for children, but for all of us. It’s a time to reconnect, to celebrate, and to remember the joy of being part of something larger than ourselves.Rediscovering the Magic of Christmas
In Bethlehem’s hush, under starlit sky,
A silent night whispered, a lullaby,
Through ages foretold in words pure and clear,
Of hope’s tender promise, now drawing near.
A humble stable, a makeshift bed,
Where soft hay cradled the Saviour’s head,
As oxen stood guard, and lambs huddled close,
In awe of the child who brought light to the lost.
The wise men travelled from lands far and wide,
Led by a star they could not deny,
With gifts for a king born gentle and small,
Gold, frankincense, myrrh, the treasures of all.
The shepherds left flocks, guided by song,
By angelic voices so joyous and strong,
They came with their wonder, in reverent array,
To see the new-born asleep in the hay.
And Mary kept still, her heart full of grace,
As heaven’s pure love lit her tired face;
She gazed on her child with eyes soft and deep,
And marvelled at mysteries she could not speak.
Oh, magic of Christmas, of peace that descends,
On hearts seeking love, on strangers and friends,
A story of joy, of a love unearned,
Of hope’s gentle flame forever returned.
So, each year we gather, by candle and tree,
Recalling that night, so holy, so free,
With wonder we sing of the Child, now grown,
The magic of Christmas forever our own.
Have a truly blessed Christmas, Andrea, Rector.
