Christmas services: an update

Apologies for the confusion arising from our decisions to cancel or amend services over Christmas which are based on our concern for public safety amid a very transmissible Covid variant. Rightly or wrongly, we err on the side of caution.
The situation now is:
The service of the word at 10.30 on 19th will go ahead as planned.
The Carol service at 6pm on 19th is cancelled.
Carols round the tree (outside) at 6pm on 22nd will go ahead.
The Crib service at 5pm on 24th is cancelled.
The Christmas morning service at 9.30 on 25th will be a short service of the word without communion or any singing, but we will assemble outside after the service to sing a couple of carols around the tree. The plan is to Zoom this service but without slides. The final draft of the service will be sent out to everyone as soon as Johan and I have agreed the content.
We don’t know what the situation will be in the new year, or what restrictions may be in place, but the PCC will meet via Zoom as soon as practical in early January to decide policy going forward.
