Embracing Change Together

As September arrives, subtle changes begin to colour our days. There’s a gentle crispness in the morning air, and the evenings gradually draw in, inviting us to savour the golden glow of late-summer sunsets. The countryside transforms as hedgerows swell with berries and the first leaves begin to turn, reminding us that creation too is preparing for a new season.

September is a time of transition—a bridge between the warmth of summer and the quiet promise of autumn. As children and young people return to school, and university students prepare for new adventures, our thoughts turn to fresh beginnings. There’s a sense of anticipation in classrooms, homes, and even in our church pews, as families adjust to new routines and settle into the rhythm of the academic year.

This month, let us remember to pray for our students and teachers. The return to school brings both excitement and nerves: new friendships to be made, lessons to absorb, and challenges to navigate. May God’s peace and guidance be with every child, parent, and educator as they step into the unknown, trusting in His constant presence.

The shifting seasons offer us a gentle lesson in faith. Just as the earth prepares for autumn, so too we are called to embrace change with open hearts. Let’s look for opportunities to serve one another, extend kindness to our neighbours, and welcome newcomers who may join us this season.

As we mark the start of harvest, let’s give thanks for God’s abundant provision and reflect on the many blessings—big and small—that fill our days. May this September be a time of growth, gratitude, and renewed hope for our whole church family.

With love and blessings,

Martin
