You will be aware that a significant number of clergy, volunteers and staff across the diocese have been affected by the APCS data breach related to DBS checks.
APCS are a third-party provider, and the breach has been beyond our control. However, on behalf of the bishops and the diocese, I want to say how sorry I am that this has happened and for the time and trouble this will have caused many people.
Colleagues in the diocese have worked extremely hard to reach out to those affected and will continue to do so. We are also working hard to set alternative arrangements in place for DBS checks to resume in the very near future.
