From Johan
We invite all to the next ramble on Saturday 13th June. Our starting point will be The Black Horse Pub/Restaurant on High Street, Standlake (OX29 7RH). I will be seeking permission from the publican to use his car park for us to use. Our walk will start at 10.00.
We will cross the A415 onto Shifford Lane to walk the Mosaic Trial to The Rose Revived at Newbridge. This ramble will be an out-and-return (just on 4 miles). The route has no hills and for the large part is really easy-going along established footpaths. For approximately 200 yards there is uneven ground across the meadow near the Windrush River (floods during the winter rains). There is also a stretch of about 100 yards with a lot of tree roots across the path. I would suggest that it is probably not child buggy friendly, but a haven for dogs.
There are about 12 wildlife mosaics on the way, and much of the walk is under cover from arching trees and shrubs. My guess would be a ramble of about 2 hours in duration.
We will be having refreshments at The Black Horse Pub at the end of the walk.
